What is infant massage?
Infant massage is a combination of Indian and Swedish massage strokes and presses that release tension and stimulate circulation toward the heart. Like an adult massage, it provides a relaxing and positive touch experience, soothing areas of discomfort and activating nerve endings for growth and development. The sequence of the massage strokes are grounded in the principles of reflexology and yoga.

For babies, infant massage is an opportunity to become intimately acquainted with the smell and touch of your skin, initiate and engage in eye contact, and develop a deep emotional connection.
With infant massage, caregivers report feeling more comfortable and confident in their ability to care for baby. During the instruction, parents learn to understand and respond to baby’s cues and offer techniques to comfort, calm and soothe their babies. This knowledge also helps to foster increased fine, gross motor and cognitive development.
